Don’t throw that computer out. There’s valuable data very deep inside. When you are cycling to new computers and servers, do what we call as security professionals, a DOD or Department of Defense Wipe. Here’s what that means. On your hard drive, you have various sectors. So a DOD wipe involves writing ones to every sector on the hard drive.

Then the next pass, it will write a zero to every sector on the hard drive. And then the final pass, it will write randomly. Some clients even prefer a whole drill right through the platters of the hard drive. Confused? Give us a call. We can help.
